AC Consultancy (emergency management) was established by Alan and Celia Clark in April 2003.
Alan has a Master of Science Degree in Civil Emergency Management. He is on the Executive Committee of the Institute of Emergency Management (MIEM) and is also a member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) and the Emergency Planning Society (MEPS).Alan retired from the British Transport Police as a Chief Inspector and had, since 1992, a National responsibility for Emergency Planning and Operations based at the Force's Headquarters in London. During that time he was responsible for facilitating in excess of 200 tabletop and live training exercises for the British Transport Police, Metropolitan Police, London Fire Service, London Ambulance Service and other emergency services and agencies throughout the UK who would have an involvement in a major incident on the rail network. He was also responsible for writing and training exercises based on the investigation of a train crash as well as being invited by the German Police to study the processes used following the Eschede train crash in 1998. During his service he played a major role in the train crashes at Ladbroke Grove (1999), Hatfield (2001), Selby (2002) and Potters Bar (2002) taking on various roles within the management of those incidents.
Alan also carried out the planning and facilitation of exercises in connection with the Millennium, disaster recovery planning and business continuity management as well as CBRN and terrorist issues. He wrote the National Business Continuity Plan for the British Transport Police that resulted in the Force being awarded a blue grading from Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary.
Celia Clark has a Batchelor of Science Degree in Human Geography as well as having a Certificate in Social Sciences and a Diploma in Environment and Development and within the partnership is responsible for the administrative functions, research and the compilation of presentations and training materials in all fields.
